The energy transition in the Netherlands cannot be realized independently of our neighboring countries, in particular Germany. Strong collaboration is required, for example on strategic joint R&D, Innovation developments, infrastructure for wind, hydrogen, combinations with district heating and geothermal or CO2 transport, grid interconnectors, storage and transport corridors for energy import via for e.g. Rotterdam, Groningen towards the European hinterland.

Also strong collaboration between the North Sea countries is required to make the energy transition on the North Sea a success with grid interconnections, energy islands, CCUS, Power to x  and development of the offshore hydrogen backbone.
The EU Green Deal drives the national policies towards accelerated reduction of CO2 emissions to realize the Paris agreement.
How successful is The EU & Netherlands energy policy cross border and in the international context?
