ANNOUNCED: NEW FOCUS GROUP WORKSHOP DURING ‘FROM FRICTION TO FLOW’

ANNOUNCED: NEW FOCUS GROUP WORKSHOP DURING ‘FROM FRICTION TO FLOW’

On 16 April, the Energy Reinvented Community [@ERC] gathers in Rijswijk for a full day under the theme ‘From Friction to Flow’.

One of three breakout Focus Group sessions this day comes with a twist; Focus Groups System Integration and CCUS, together with Future Energy Leaders, are organising a carousel workshop on large-scale renewable carbon transition in the Rotterdam Harbour Industrial Cluster. Eight expert discussion leaders. Three rounds of conversation. Groups of 3–4 people rotating between stations. You may come with answers and leave with questions. Expect the unexpected. Feel uncomfortable — but intrigued. Sharp questions and thoughtful discussions, with the people who shape this transition.

The challenge on the table: Rotterdam currently processes ~50 Mton/yr of crude oil. The ambition points toward 15–20 Mton/yr of renewable carbon. How do we get from here to there — and what does it take to move from friction to flow?

Confirmed discussion leaders and speakers so far:
  • Gerben Hieminga — Senior Economist, ING
  • Amanda Fernandes — Strategy and Carbon Policy | Climate Tech, Skytree
  • Arjan van Vliet — Energy Transition & Circularity Advisor, Shell
  • Maxim Snippe — Team Lead Sustainable Energy Carriers Maritime Shipping, Ministry of Infrastructure & Water Management
  • Els Boesveld — Policy Officer Harbour-Industrial Complex & Circular, Provincie Zuid-Holland
More speakers to be announced soon.

This focus group session is organized by Andreas ten Cate (Tekenkamer van de Industrie), Jan Prins (Siemens Energy), Tobias Roelofs (TNO), Judie Al Ghazzawi (Future Energy Leaders).

Spots are limited and allocated first-come, first-served. If this is your world, don't wait! Register here for the event and this focus group session: https://www.energyreinventedcommunity.com/events/from-friction-to-flow
