HEAT TRANSITION: THE RACE TO 2040
Discover how Gasunie/WarmtelinQ, Capturam, and Netverder are redefining how we heat our homes, greenhouses, and industries on the road to net zero.
The EU and Dutch Climate Laws have set clear, ambitious goals: a fully sustainable, net zero energy system in 2050. Last July, the European Commission proposed an intermediary target for 2040 of 90% decarbonisation – just 15 years away. This means it’s time to accelerate the shift from gas towards electrification and collective heat systems across the built environment, horticulture, and industry.
Our upcoming Heat Transition Focus Group, part of our third ERC event THE BUMPY ROAD TO EXECUTION, will highlight several heat system developments and how they are progressing in practice. How do developers see a smoother execution path forward amid today’s complex challenges?
Join us as we explore the realities and opportunities shaping the future of collective heating in the Netherlands and beyond.
