NEW EXHIBITION: TRANSIT
What happens when climate ambitions collide with industrial reality? The exhibition Transit – climate – industry – prosperity explores exactly that friction.
Brought together by the Sustainable Industry Lab (SIL), a think tank investigating future scenarios for Dutch industry, Transit places socially engaged research in direct dialogue with contemporary art. Researchers Laetitia Ouillet, Sanne Akerboom, Maxine Fromm and Gert Jan Kramer provide the conceptual frameworks; eight artists respond in their own visual language — sometimes with doubt, sometimes with discomfort, always with intent.
Among the highlights is a photographic installation by Natascha Libbert, created especially for this exhibition. Her Forest of Wonder documents the slow transformation of landscapes, with the reverse sides of each photograph presenting facts, dilemmas and bold ideas about the future of industry in the Netherlands and beyond. The other participating artists — Heike Baranowsky, Matt Calderwood, John Gerrard, Reynold Reynolds & Patrick Jolley, Martti Kalliala & Daniel Keller, Cristina Lucas, and Thiago Rocha Pitta — each engage with the central theme through their own lens.
Note: all panels and all information at the transition are bilingual (Dutch, English).
