OFFSHORE RENEWABLE INNOVATIONS
The North Sea is buzzing, and not just with ships and turbines. Hear from Subsea7, DMEC and TNO what bold ideas are shaping the next generation of offshore energy and how innovators and policy makers are reimagining how to use our shared seas more efficiently, sustainably, and collaboratively.
This time the Offshore Energy Focus Group brings together the following experts to discuss what’s possible offshore and what they encounter in execution:Remco Groenenberg, Senior Scientist Integrator at TNO, will share insights into the NSE 5 Hub designs — integrated offshore systems designed to connect energy generation, storage, and transport across the North Sea. These hubs could be the backbone of a truly connected European offshore grid.
Benjamin Lehner, CEO of DMEC, will dive into the latest breakthroughs in offshore renewable energy — including solar-at-sea, wave and tidal power, and floating wind. Together, these innovations promise to balance the energy mix and unlock new sources of clean power where space on land is scarce.
Wilfrid Merlin, Principal Engineer at Subsea 7, will explore the ecological impact of these technologies. His perspective will focus on how smart design and ecological engineering can ensure that offshore energy development supports marine life rather than disrupts it.
Join the discussion and discover how today’s offshore breakthroughs are shaping tomorrow’s blue-green economy.
