REPORT SITE VISIT: ERC ON BOARD PURUS HORIZON
Last Wednesday, a group of 30 ERC members was welcomed onboard the SOV Purus Horizon: a state-of-the-art Service Operating Vessel (SOV) recently welcomed to the Purus wind fleet and deployed by Siemens Energy for maintenance of an offshore wind farm.
It was a great opportunity to have a firsthand look at how vessels like this keep offshore wind parks running: providing safe walk-to-work access for technicians, serving as a platform for crane operations and housing crews for weeks at a time out at sea.
The afternoon offered interesting presentations by Geert de Jong and Tjeerd Steller, a tour and good questions and conversations; all the ingredients for a successful ERC site visit!
