UPCOMING ERC MAIN EVENT: GOING FURTHER TOGETHER (19 NOV)

On 19 November, ERC’s second main event of 2026 - ‘Going Further Together’ - focuses on how partnerships can unlock progress at every stage of development; from early innovation to projects that are being delivered or in operational situations. During this event, hosted by Shell and EBN, we discuss how the impact of working together should not be underestimated; only by combining strengths, sharing risks and redesigning systems can we truly go further together.

New speakers announced
We are happy to announce the list of speakers for this event:
  • Opening keynote by Tijmen Keesmaat (Project Director Delta21)
  • Opening keynote by Staf Depla (Chair Raad voor Energie)
  • Chris van de Loo (Business Development Manager AllSeas)
  • Mick van Hattem (General Manager RHIA – Rotterdam The Hague Innovation Airport)
  • Fennet van de Wetering (Galan Groep)
  • Gemmeke Groot (Project Director Porthos)
  • Mattijs Slee (CEO and Founder Alquion)
  • Patrick Kools (Leader KBC Decarbonization Practice Yokogawa)

  • Marieke van der Werf (Public Affairs Platform Groen Gas)
  • Ireen Roling (Program Manager OER RWS/Rijkswaterstaat)

There will also be 3 panel discussions:

Panel 1: ‘Partnerships driving innovation’
Innovation in the energy transition relies on collaboration — especially in early-phase development, where uncertainty is high and success is not guaranteed. Partnerships (including startups, academia and industry) are key to exploring new ideas and bringing them closer to application. What makes thesecollaborations work in early-stage innovation? And how do we deal with uncertainties and shared risk?

Panel 2: ‘Unlocking the system together’
Collaboration across value chains and infrastructure systems is critical to overcome grid congestion. From integrated industrial energy hubs where electricity, heat and systems come together, to flexibility solutions that connect industry and markets; unlocking capacity requires system integration, industrial flexibility, and coordinated action across all players. How can we better integrate energy systems across the value chain? And how do we address grid congestion collectively?

Panel 3: ‘Scaling new energy systems’
Realizing the energy transition requires deploying a range of energy solutions at scale. From hydrogen and CCS to bio-based energy, these projects bring together multiple players across complex value chains to turn plans into reality. What does it take to scale different energy solutions? And how do we organize collaboration across complex value chains?

Registration for this event is now open. Also, please do not forget to sign up for one of the focus groups to discuss real examples and dive deeper into key challenges and possible solutions.
