ERC is looking for a hands-on and proactive Communications Advisor to continue and further professionalize its communications activities. About Energy Reinvented Community (ERC)
Energy Reinvented Community (ERC) is a collaborative platform that connects a wide range of stakeholders across the energy industry. Our mission is to inspire dialogue, ignite innovation, and enable cross-sector and cross-border partnerships that accelerate the energy transition.
Each year, ERC hosts several events: a kick-off event in January to announce the annual theme, two main events exploring subthemes, and additional side events and site visits in collaboration with partners. The ERC Board works closely with an independent project manager and an independent communications advisor to maintain and strengthen engagement within our growing community. Our communications aim to:
- Share the value of the ERC platform,
- Deepen member engagement,
- Grow membership, and
- Increase both the quantity and quality of event participation.
The Role
Starting December 1, 2025, ERC is seeking a hands-on Communications Advisor to continue and further professionalize its communications activities. This freelance position (on average approx. 4 hours per week) offers flexibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to shape how ERC connects with its members and partners. Key priorities include strengthening interaction with members and non-members through social media (especially LinkedIn), newsletters, and updates to the ERC website.
Key activities
1. Event Communications
- Translate event objectives and programs into clear and timely save-the-dates, invitations, and promotional content.
- Promote speakers and program highlights via email, website, and social media.
- Prepare briefing materials for speakers and moderator and write post-event reports.
- Participate in board meetings and preparatory calls with speakers to help craft moderator scripts and event narratives.
- Strengthen ERC’s visibility between events through regular posts and updates on LinkedIn and the ERC website.
- Share inspiring stories, member highlights, and partner initiatives in an accessible and engaging way – including through a regular newsletter.
- Draft press releases and monitor media activity when relevant.
- Track and evaluate the reach and impact of communications efforts.
- Provide backup support to the project manager during unforeseen absences, including preparing and taking minutes at board meetings, managing registrations, or assisting with onsite event coordination.
- Update website and LinkedIn content to reflect ERC’s renewed vision and mission (currently in development).
- Help refine positioning statements and select visuals aligned with the new direction.
- Registered with the Chamber of Commerce (freelance contract).
- Excellent command of both Dutch and English (Steering Board communication in Dutch; Community communication in English).
- Strong writing skills – you can craft clear, engaging, and accessible content.
- Affinity with the energy transition and technology.
- Available to attend scheduled ERC events and board meetings (in-person and virtual).
- A one-year freelance assignment with the possibility of renewal.
- A market-based hourly rate (in line with experience).
