INNOVATING SUPPLY CHAINS FOR CLIMATE AND ECONOMY
The energy transition is no longer just a climate issue—it’s an economic one. Renske Ytsma, Managing Director at Siemens Energy Benelux, and Oscar Snijders, Sustainability Lead at Deloitte, will open our upcoming event, Towards Sustainable and Innovative Supply Chains, as hosting partners. Gerben Hieminga, Energy Transition Economist at ING, will deliver the keynote, Making Supply Chains Work: An Economic Perspective on Energy Transition.
Europe now faces a critical intersection of competitiveness, sustainability, and geopolitics. Transforming supply chains requires more than innovation—it demands coordination, policy foresight, and strategic economic planning. Reshoring and industrial realism are vital to building resilient energy transition infrastructure.Gerben will explore what a multipolar world means for EU and Dutch supply chains. As a seasoned economist with expertise in energy markets and hard-to-abate sectors like sustainable fuels, his work focuses on technology and policy solutions for a net zero economy. Based in Amsterdam, Gerben holds degrees in economics and building engineering.
The event opens with remarks from Renske Ytsma, a leader in renewable energy with over 15 years of experience across innovation, operations, and project development. At Siemens Energy, she drives integrated solutions in renewable generation and grid transmission to accelerate decarbonisation.
Oscar Snijders brings over 35 years of leadership experience, including as former CFO, entrepreneur, and COO of Deloitte Netherlands. Now focused solely on sustainability advisory, Oscar helps organisations navigate decarbonisation in a complex global landscape.
