KEEPING EUROPE COMPETITIVE
Leaders from Ørsted, TenneT, WindEurope, and Shell Energy will share insights on strengthening and innovating domestic supply chains and accelerating production and use of renewable energy in the session “Turning Deglobalisation into Opportunity: Keeping Europe Competitive” on 19 June. As global protectionism rises, European energy leaders are calling for a new balance between open markets and strategic autonomy to maintain competitiveness.
Following an introduction by Phil Cole, Director of Industrial Affairs at WindEurope, the discussion will turn to the potential of European manufacturing in the wind sector, the importance of stable financing models and the role of demand creation to grow Europe's industrial base.Sjouke Bootsma, Director Supply Chain Management at TenneT will share his experience with long-term planning to innovate supply chains. By bundling projects into tenders, TenneT gives suppliers the confidence to invest in people and cleaner processes. TenneT is committing multibillion euros to future grid capacity.
Ruben Dijkstra, Managing Director Benelux at Ørsted, is working on Ørsted’s ambitions to realise 25 gigawatts of offshore wind capacity by 2032 in the Netherlands and Belgium. Ruben will go into Ørsted’s white paper “Offshore wind at a crossroads” which argues that the European offshore wind industry should align on realistic targets for installed capacity to prevent stress on the supply chain.
Rob Bogers is Director at Shell Energy. He is responsible for Shell Energy’s B2B business in The Netherlands, where the focus is on supporting medium to large - often energy-intensive companies - in navigating their energy needs and sustainability goals. Demand creation is a key focus for Rob. Under his leadership, Shell Energy delivers a comprehensive portfolio that includes gas, power (including renewables), environmental products, and advanced energy management solutions.
Join us on 19 June for a dynamic conversation with four experts at the forefront of Europe’s energy transformation.
